Reverend Dr. Shon T. Adkins was called to be a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on July 14, 1996. She was licensed to preach at the Antioch Baptist Church in Harlem under her father and Pastor, the late Reverend Dr. Alfloyd Alston. She has been blissfully married to her husband Oliver Adkins, Jr. for 31 years and is the proud mother of two children, Candyce and Joshua.

Reverend Adkins graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. She received a Master of Social Work Degree in 1996 from Fordham University. In 2007, she received a Masters of Divinity in Theology from Drew University. In 2015 she returned to Drew and received her Doctorate in Ministry in May 2018.

As a woman of vision, Reverend Adkins is revered for her multifaceted leadership, love, compassion and integrity. Known as “a Pastor’s Pastor” she is committed supporting the health and wellbeing of clergy. As a Life Coach, she imparts truths and encourages those both in the church and outside its walls with cutting-edge approaches to wholeness and success. It is her prayer that everyone she encounters will be equipped to be the champions God called them to be. For this, she is often lovingly referred to as “The Pastor with a big heart” and “Pastor Shon”.

She is a highly anointed, vibrant, inspirational and influential servant of both the church and her community. As a recipient of numerous honors and recognitions, Pastor Adkins is a firm believer that it is all because of and to the glory of God.
